WHAT TO EXPECT:  Upon you first visit, you will have to fill out a client intake form.  Protected by HIPAA, you will fill out general information, a health history, indicators of discomfort, and informed consent agreement.  Your therapist will discuss your answers, ask clarifying questions, and set up a treatment plan specific to your needs.

The treatment room is softly lit for your relaxation.  With privacy, you may undress to your comfort level.  For Neuromuscular therapy, shorts and a top that is accessible to the muscles of the upper body will be needed.  Once you are on the table, underneath the sheets, you will be properly draped at all times to keep you warm, exposing only the area to be worked on.  To reduce friction and hydrate the skin, you will have several aromatherapy blends in organic jojoba, including unscented, to choose from.  To improve your comfort, you can have heat on the table and bolsters to comfortably position your body.  Pain is entirely subjective.  If the pressure is too much for you, then it is too much for you. The statement “no pain = no gain” is a fallacy.  The exact opposite is true.  If your nervous system views the work as a threat, it will tighten muscles and release endorphins that will compromise the effectiveness of your therapy.  Last but not least, be still and enjoy.  This is your time.

CANCELLATION/LATE POLICY:  Please arrive for your appointment at least 5 minutes early.  If you are going to be late, notification is appreciated.  If you are more than 15 minutes late, your session will be shortened and you will be responsible for it in it's scheduled entirety.  Any cancellations require a 24 hour notice, any less, or if you are a no show, you will be charged.  Exceptions will be made on a case by case basis due to unforeseen circumstances.   Payment is due at appointment time.
